About Streamzap The story of Streamzap started in the age of Napster when a senior at MIT and his friends needed a way to control their large MP3 collections with a remote control instead of using the keyboard to change tracks or increase the volume of a favorite tune. There was just one problem. At the time, there was no product commericially available. That's when Streamzap founder Jonah Peskin originally created a software program called WinRemote. WinRemote was designed to work with the IrDA ports built into most laptops to receive signals from any existing remote control. The solution worked, but was limited to about 1-3 feet of range.
